QUESTION 1 - THE MOMENT
Thanks so much for joining us. Let’s start with a quick intro—who you are, where you work—and maybe a hint about the news or topic you’re excited to talk about.
Absolutely, and thanks so much for having me. I'm Emma Lefkowitz, team leader of The Barron Team at Real Brokerage here in San Diego. I've been in real estate for over two decades, and I get to lead an incredible team that's built around delivering a high-touch, client-first experience while embracing systems and technology that help us stay ahead. It's been an exciting season for our team, and I'm looking forward to sharing a little bit about what's been happening behind the scenes and how we got here.
I'm especially excited to talk about the journey behind some recent milestones we've celebrated. Recognition is always an honor, but what excites me most is what those milestones represent. The people, the culture, and the intentional systems we've built over the years. That's really the story I'm looking forward to sharing.
QUESTION 2 — THE STORY BEHIND IT
We’d love to hear your origin story. How did you get into real estate, and why does this career matter so much to you personally?
Real estate has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my mom was always bringing me along to showings, open houses, and appointments. At the time, I probably didn't realize it, but being around that environment really sparked something in me. I got to see firsthand that real estate isn't just about buying and selling homes, it's about helping people through some of the biggest milestones in their lives.
My mom really laid the foundation for what eventually became The Barron Team. She built the business on relationships, trust, and genuinely putting clients first, and those values are still at the heart of everything we do today. I feel incredibly fortunate to carry that legacy forward while continuing to grow and evolve the business.
For me, this career has never just been about transactions or sales numbers. We do this because we believe in our community and the people who make it so special. The community we've built has supported me through every season of life. From growing my business to raising my kids, and that's something I never take for granted. Being able to give back by helping families find a place to call home and put down roots in the same community that's given so much to me is incredibly meaningful.
QUESTION 3 — WHY IT MATTERS
Take us right into your topic—what’s happening, and why does it matter both to you and the people you serve?
We're so excited to share that The Barron Team was recently recognized as the #1 team in San Diego by RealTrends Verified. It's an incredible honor and one that means so much to all of us because it reflects years of dedication, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to the people we serve.
For me personally, it's incredibly special because San Diego isn't just where I work, it's home. It's where my family is, where we're raising our kids, and where we've built lifelong relationships. To be recognized in the community that's given so much to us is truly humbling.
What excites me most is what this means for our clients and our community. It reinforces that they're partnering with a team that's deeply invested in this market, passionate about serving people well, and committed to helping San Diego continue to thrive. We see every transaction as more than just a sale, it's an opportunity to help families put down roots, build wealth, and become part of this incredible community.

QUESTION 4 — WHAT YOU’VE LEARNED
Tell us more about the layers behind this topic. What else should our audience know to fully appreciate what you’re sharing?
When people see a recognition like this, they usually only see the end result. What they don't see are the years of consistency, the challenges, and the commitment it took to get here. There wasn't one defining moment that changed everything. It was a lot of small decisions made over time.
We focused on building the right team, creating an environment where people genuinely enjoy working together, and making sure every client feels like they're our only client. Those things don't always show up on a leaderboard, but they're what create long-term success.
As we've grown, we've stayed grounded in the same values my mom built this business on: relationships, trust, and always doing what's right for the client. I really believe those values have carried us through every stage of growth, and they've allowed us to build something that's not just successful today, but sustainable for years to come.
QUESTION 5 — WHAT COMES NEXT
What are some common myths or misunderstandings people have about this topic—and what’s the truth?
I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that top-performing teams become less personal as they grow. People assume that once a team reaches a certain size, clients become just another transaction.
For us, it's actually been the opposite. Growing has allowed us to bring in incredible people who share the same values and level of care. It means our clients have an entire team advocating for them, communicating with them, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Another misconception is that rankings are the goal. They're not. Rankings are the result of consistently serving people well. If you chase the numbers, you might have a good year. If you focus on relationships and trust, you build a business that lasts.
QUESTION 6 — THE TAKEAWAY
This has been a great conversation. As we close, what final advice would you offer, and how can people learn more about working with you?
I don't think you ever really 'arrive' in this business. Every year teaches you something new, every client has a different story, and every market presents new challenges. That's one of the reasons I still love what I do after all these years. It keeps you learning, growing, and connected to your community.
